Em Riem was born in 1977 in Kandal Province, Cambodia, graduated from the Royal University of Fine Arts in Cambodia in 2000. He left for France the same year in order to develop his talent for painting and design. He stayed for a duration of seven years, during which he earned diplomas in design at the School of Fine Arts in Saint-Etienne (2006), and at the National School for Decorative Arts in Paris (2008). He returned back to Phnom Penh in 2008, where he opened “Gallery X-em Design.” There he exhibits his own work as well as those of other artists. He practices abstract as well as figurative art.

Nowhere is an independent art studio / gallery in Phnom Penh by artists Lolli Park (South Korea) and Syahrulfikri Salleh (Malaysia). Lolli is a self-taught artist. She worked in the fashion industry then quit her job in 2013 to focus on her personal art. She loves creating quirky illustrations, pattern designs and hand-carved block prints. Syahrulfikri has been involved in the creative industry since 2000. In 2013, he quit his job as a lecturer of typography design at Limkokwing University (Malaysia) to pursue his dream to travel the world and make art. After two years of traveling, he now works with an advertising agency in Phnom Penh.
